Story Submissions

At Lucky Cats Rescue, we're on a mission to celebrate the incredible bond between humans and animals, and the healing power of art and music in our lives. We believe that sharing our stories can inspire, uplift, and unite us in a community of compassion and understanding.

That's why we're reaching out to you, our amazing community, with an open call for submissions. We want to hear your stories – the moments when your pet "just knew" something was wrong and gave you comfort, or when your art and music lifted you through tough times.

Get creative, this is not limited to written stories. Feel free to utilize written word, audio, video, whatever medium you feel helps tell your story while being true to you.

Goal:

  • To collect and share real-life stories from real humans about the benefit pets, art, and music has had on your life.

  • To showcase how therapeutic and beneficial arts and animals are to our everyday life and health.

Suggested Topics:

  • Share a story of a time when your pet "just knew" when something was wrong and gave you comfort

  • Share a story of a time when your pets were there for you when you were struggling with mental health, grief or other life

  • Share a story of a time when your art got you through a hard time in your life.

  • What do you find to be the most therapeutic part of playing music or art form of choice?

  • What is your go-to hype-you-up song?

  • What/who do you listen to when you are sad or feeling low and why?

  • Favorite "Fuck this shit!" song/album

  • Favorite art form you can't do but appreciate the benefit its had on your life because someone else can do it?

Why share your story?

By sharing your experiences, you're not only adding your voice to our growing community but also helping us showcase the profound impact of pets, art, and music on mental health and well-being. Together, we can create a space where stories are heard, connections are made, and healing begins.

Only your first name and location will be shared along with your story unless you request to be anonymous. Comments on others stories is not permitted, this is a “comment free” zone so those that wish to share can do so without the care of other options. Please take in everyone stories with an open heart and judgment aside.

Here we are asking for you to share your own trusted links and free online resources for others that may be just life you, and need some info and understanding. Its so hard these days to know where to find information or find it overwhelming.

If you have a free website that you know has provided some guidance, information, please take a moment and send it to us so we may add it to our (Real) Human Resources page. All websites will be screened before being added to the page. Be sure to tell us what you’ve found helpful so we have a better idea and can include that for others.

In a world where its becoming harder and harder to know who and what can be trusted, we want to help take some of the guesswork and energy needed to sort through it all.
